I am having trouble with my banshees transmission. It will not stay in second gear while accelerating. It pops out of second and makes a ratchetting noise. I have changed the gears, shift forks, and the shift drum. I can not find any apparent reason for this. If anyone has had a similar problem I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Much better.

I think the yamaha R6 and banshee use the same transmission. If that is the case you have the infamous "2nd gear slip" that 99-02 R6 owners talk about all the time. Read this article and it will give you a little more information.

thanks sparky. I purchased the gear set off e-bay and should have took a look at the individual gears before installing. I will replace those parts tomm. and let you know what happens. Thanks again.

You should have inspected each gear carefully. They could be rounded on the inside where they mesh together.
