doo600 Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 ok i just came off the lake in white lake mich, hear is my ? i am running 96 ice picks in each tire the motor has been bored 10 over prolite pistons 30mm carbs bosen carbin fiber reeds vitos clutch all 5 springs fmf gnarly pipes and k&n filters and gearing 13 in front 41 in back and lowered it all the way around that is my set up so far ok if i take off in frist it lunches hard to hard so i tried 2nd gear and it just falls flat i had to put it back in 1st hmmmmm not sure on this one any idea's out there would help thanks Quote
sheefreak Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 With a 13 you should easily be able to leave in second. How is your jetting. I am assuming you rejeted for the temps. How healthy is your top end? Checked compression recently? Something is not quite right. Quote

Yea, somethin must not be right, I launch in 2nd gear with a 15T front sprocket no problem. I have to feather it a little to keep the front end down, but thats it! You should be able to launch in second with 13tooth front, however, dumping the clutch rather than feeding it out will cause it to bog. Banshees like a to spin a little to get the R's up. 96 picks are digging in, period. Learn how to slip out the clutch at a high RPM instead of just dumping it. Quote

True that, you might burn up a clutch too with that many picks. Thats what I did last year in 2 passes. Clutch smoked! Luckily some of my picks ripped out, allowing my tires to spin more, allowing me to slip the clutch less :thumbsup: Quote
dajogejr Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 I believe I have 48 or 46 picks in my rear tires, the guy I bought them off of used them in either a 4 mil or 10 mil cub drag bike, and they were plenty. You could probably cut the amount of picks in half unless you're turning some BIG numbers... Quote
