I have a queston about piston weights. I had to replace one piston. The new one is 10 grams heavier then the old one. They are both Wisco prolite. My original piston is perfect, didnt really want to have to replace it. Is 10 gram diff on the pistons something to worring about?

I wouldn't recommend changing just one piston. Change them both to new ones and dont worry aout the weight. Did you measure them both without piston rings?

Matching the weight of the pistons is very important in racing engines where there ary very high tolerances ans you are trying to squeeze every last once of power out of the engine. In most cases with a Banshee, it probably doesn't matter. If I were you I would replace both pistons at the same time especially since your old piston is 10 grams different from your nbew piston, which leads me to beleive that it is not in as good of shape as you think it is.

just think of the self detonation you are thinking of doing on this machine

10g difference at 13000 rpm sounds like a bad move to me.....

u have the engine apart just replace the dumb thing and get on with it.use the old piston as an ash tray or just a dust collector at the shop
