Devans Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Hey guys just tore down my top end to get it bored, the heads were stuck on pretty good.. The gaskets smeemed to just stick on, i thought they would stay one piece, instead it stuck and ripped. Any tips to removing the excess gasket? Quote
bentvalve Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 razor blade, little wire brush.just don't dig any holes. don Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Find the biggest grinder you can and go to town on it. Personally I just use a wire-wheel on a drill and a razorblade. If you do use a power tool of some kind don't stay in one spot very long and make sure you use a soft material so it doesn't "grind" away anything off your head or cylinders. Quote

I have used a few different things but normally it just takes time and a gasket scraper. I like them better then a razor blade but i might be a panzy. Quote
bentvalve Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 yeah a nice putty knife sharpened on the end maybe a 2" one. also could use green scotchbrite. go to autobone there are solvents made for gaskets if they are on like metal.lol don Quote
