so i got her running now, but as soon as i hook up the tank to the carbs fuel just starts pouring out of the overflow line. I took it apart and it seems like the floats are working as they should, and the valve seems fine....i'm not really sure how to check the valve. And anybody got any ideas about what is wrong and how to fix it?

Tap on the side of the bowl with a screwdriver handle. This will remedy sometimes. If that doesnt work, take the carb off and flip it upside down. Blow in the gas line. It should not let any air in, if it does your needle/seat has crap in it, is worn out, or your float is WAY out of whack. Take the float/needle/seat apart and give a thorough cleaning with carb cleaner and blow it out with compressed air, if you have it. I hope this helps

Best thing to do would be get a carb kit for it and go through both carbs, sounds like the needle and seat are bad. A carb kit comes with new needles and seat and all gaskets, and are relatively cheap I think like 13.95 through dennis kirk or anywhere else. This should fix your problem, It worked for me I had the same thing happen!

carb rebuild kits from dennis kirk, 15$ each carb. Its a good deal. I had the same problem, just put in new needle seats.
