mod quad 2 Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 im thinkin seriously about doin the suspension on my banshee and a arms and stuff later but how much and dual rate elkas with or without rezzys handle or should i go triple rate? and for a rear shock would the stock one rebuilt by elka be alright or would works be my best bet Quote
burleybanshee Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 The overall lentgh of a banshee shock is to short for triple rates. Get duals with comp. adjust only, Its all you need, unless serious mx racing. The rear shock is good, just have it re-valved. My rear is still in good shape, haven't had to do it yet and i run a +4 swinger. I have dune edition dual rate with piggybacks comp. adjust, made all the difference in the world. Quote
mod quad 2 Posted December 21, 2006 Author Report Posted December 21, 2006 so your saying something like elka rec serie would be fine and for doin some mx and jumpin to and te stock rear rebuilt and revalved would be fine Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Elkas are damn nice shocks man i dont know if id ride on anything diffrent. They are great for mx and anything else you can throw at them. Iv taken some serious hits and they soak them up with no problem. As for the rear there are mixed opinions some say revalve some say get a new shock. It all depends are what yyour gonna do with it and what kinda money you have to spend. Quote

mod quad 2 Posted December 21, 2006 Author Report Posted December 21, 2006 thanks so what about the rear shock Quote
dawarriorman Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 (edited) limits your travel with the ever friendly coil bind. PEP makes triple rates for a banshee, and works, but nobody else does. Edited December 22, 2006 by dawarriorman Quote
mod quad 2 Posted December 22, 2006 Author Report Posted December 22, 2006 how are those triples and do you run stokc rear Quote
dawarriorman Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 (edited) how are those triples and do you run stokc rear They're amazing. Some of the best Ive ridden on a track. I really never had thought about getting PEP when I was shopping for shocks, but I found them new on eBay for a good deal and haven't regretted it once. Im still using a stock rear at the moment. As long as the rebound is set right, its not too bad. It still sucks, but the stock front shocks are more of a limiting factor. Im planning on sending it off in a couple months to get revalved. ClimbAnyHill Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 Get doubles, that would be fine. Anything over front stock shocks is a major improvement. The rear shock perform alot better. A good revalve on it & you're good to go. TCS can do it for you at a good price! Quote
2005SEBANSHEE Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 Dual rate Elkas  Quote
