roller bearing mod vs pancake bearing mod

jeff sells the pancake bearing mod that makes it so your clutch/rod ball dont weld up together. is that the same as the roller bearing mod on the pressure plate that i read someone say in the drag forums?

That is probably what they are refering to. There is also a ceramic ball available to replace the steel one.

so if i bought just the ceramic ball i wouldnt have to buy the new bearing etc etc.

I personally run just the Pancake bearing and have not had any problems. Some run both for insurance, but I can't really comment on just running the ceramic ball. Hopefully someone who has will chime in.

rumor has it the ceramic balls are breaking, I personally run the pancake bearing and have not had any problems what so ever

I know the stock set up sucks i had mine weld the ball to the clutch arm and has to split the cases to fix the problem It was a use pain in the ass. So if you are wondering if its worth it Ill say hell yes its worth every penny if nothing else it makes the bike a little more reliable in my eyes.
