With a port job it wont be a race id say you have a problem wit your bike.....i have a 01 and raced a 700 craptor on the street and put bus links on it the only thing done to my bike is t5s +4 key and race gas Quote
theshee Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 Ive got a buddy with a rappy 700 with an EFI controller, pipe and an intake. I am looking into a 4mil stroker and a set of cubs, would this be enough to beat a hopped up Raptor 700? I guess its pretty fast... i dunno. Quote
tomtunas Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 With the 4mil cub it wouldnt be fair to the raptor. Not that much motor is needed to beat any new four stroke. Quote
scooter Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 a stock 700 will beat a stock banshee.get some pipes to start, reeds, and lose the stock air filter and you will gain alot. the banshee is not that impressive stock you need to release the beast inside.no other quad responds to mods as well as the shee Quote
olmick Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 if your on a budjet just pick up some used pipes, ditch the airbox, mill the head, get a timing plate, put a bigger gear on the front, and u can lighten the flywheel, etc, then that banshee will be an absolute brute compared than it is now and that raptor and the 450s will be in your dust Quote

If all you have is +4 key and stock compression, pump gas is fine. You're wasting your money on race gas, and possibly hurting performance (burns too slow). Pipe, jet and air filter that stock shee...and get tires that hook. No problem with a 700 Rappy. A cub shee is OVERKILL for a raptor, modded or not. Now I know there are drag raptors all done up that are pretty fast, so, not saying it can't be done. However, this guy didn't say anything about a built drag raptor... Quote

DADEBOYRACER101 Posted December 15, 2006 Author Report Posted December 15, 2006 SO SOMETHING MUST BE WRONG WITH MY BIKE CAUSE i have fmf pipes and air filters and jetted and the 700r left me about 10 or 7 cars Quote
yamaha04 Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 you shopuld probably have not problem with him but maybe its you no offence. Try launching in second gear? always helps me out in a race Quote

Or his 700 has more into it than he is letting on... He will probably get you off the start. They are very torquey and hook up quite well. But, you should be pulling along side him by 3rd and passing him by 4th or so... Quote
DADEBOYRACER101 Posted December 15, 2006 Author Report Posted December 15, 2006 i drove it myself and a friend did 2 could it be the tires i got. it woble on top end and shake alot Quote

Otherwise, bent rims, front end tight? Chain tightened properly? rear axle carrier in alignment. Front end in alignment... Quote
tpete3 Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 Check jetting, my friend has 700R with CT pipe kit, fuel controller and intake, proper jetting with your mods you will get him on top. At Dumont on Thanksgiving, He spanked me, jetting was off and he got me on top end. Listen to dajogejr, he dialed me in and now have no problems with the raptor Quote
