ronniesraptor Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 ive got a bladerunner 2 wich is a crappy 100 dollar one. i like it so i think you will really like the raptor Quote
Wallrat Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 (edited) If you've never flown an RC heli then invest in an RC simulator - Real Flight is probably one of the better ones. Flying an RC heli is one of the most challenging things you'll ever attempt. Even real helicopter pilots are at a loss when it comes to the RC version. I've got one of those indoor $100 Bladerunner heli's, (which I've modified quite a bit), and its a fun little toy for around the house. Definately indoors only though as even having an open window will make it almost impossible to fly! Its nothing like flying a raptor though! I've logged quite a few hours of heli time on my simulator, and can usually fly for awhile before crashing. Still, its pretty hard to crash a heli and not have the repair bill come out to less than $100. Here's a link to Real Flight's page. There's a free demo available that will let you fly 1 heli and 1 airplane - check the left margin. The heli is a little Impala or something and there's only keyboard control, but you'll be able to get an idea of how much input you have to do just to keep the thing airborne. At $200, the simulator will pay for itself by the time you finish your first flight with that raptor. Here's the program at tower hobbies: LINK Edited November 20, 2006 by Wallrat Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 my buddy used to have a sick rc heli all carbon fiber stuff pretty bad ass really hard to fly practice hoverin for a WHILE once u get em up high there hard to get back down slowly Quote
Wallrat Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Naw man just auto-rotate that shit. Cut the pitch and throttle, let it fall like a rock, then right before it hits the ground, crank the pitch back up. If you do it right its pretty sweet! If you don't...well try to not get hit by any flying parts! Quote
