I got a problem with my right cylinder. The left cylinder is fine, runs like a champ, but the right cylinder wont run at all, it has a bright spark, and is geting plenty of fuel, also i changed the reeds and the cage to start trouble shooting, but it's a no go. it started when i was out on a ride then all of a sudden it started to bog and the right cylinder wasn't running very good, so i changed the plug and it didn't make a difference, it had plenty of compression but i took the head off anyway to check it out, everything look realy good so i put it back together and it still ran like shit, please help, i realy wanna go riding!

Banshees fire at both TDC and BDC because there is only one coil (when one pistons on TDC the other ones on BDC). It is possibly that it if firing only at BDC on that cylinder and thats the spark you see. Check pick up coil and flywheel

not trying to hijack your thread. The same problem is going on with my dads. the right cylinder isnt firing, but it spits out oil. We just changed the coil and then during halloween weekend thats when this started to happen. Im thinking that its something in the motor and not an electrical.

ok, i have checked the flywheel, i have changed the reeds, taken the carb apart and cleaned it even tho everything looked clean, i got uni pod filters on and i just recently cleaned them, i have swaped the coil wires and changed the plugs a couple times, i have lots of compression and even taken the head off to inspect it.

In reply to Tim C's post i have checked to make sure it is sparking at the right time, what i did is stuck a pencil threw the spark plug hole and turned it over realy slow, then when the piston was just about at the top i would give it a short quick kick and it would spark right away

this problem is realy bothering me, thanks for all you help so far and any sugestions is realy helpfull.

I have the exact same problem. I have checked everything you have done & removed TORS.

Also remove baffles to make sure pipes weren't plugged. Please post your repairs as soon as possible.

Thanks RocketIII

i know my problem isnt an intake issue. we've checked the reeds and its a single carb :shoothead: . Im thinking that maybe the rod or something in that area . i dont know this one has me stumped

The oil could be from the crankcase. A bad crankcase seal on the right side would do that. I don't know from experience just what I've read.

As for the other guys problem, I'll refer you to another post. I'll edit it in when I find it.
