420 RACING Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 See ya out there!!! Does this look familiar from St. Clair.........Damn I can't wait. I reciently went to a snowmobile grass drag event that a friend put on and ran my 10mil against some big motor sleds 900-1200 some on juice and whooooped some ass. Should be a good year as long as we get ICE.. Quote
dajogejr Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 ooh....yeahhhh.... My buddy doesn't get it. He's got a formula 3 skidoo piped and clutched, 98, with about 8K miles on it. I keep telling him it's gonna be a good race and he's gonna be surprised what a little banshee can do...so, he'll just have to see for himself. Picking up some picked tires hopefully this weekend!! kubiac3 Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 What tire do you guys run for the ice. I just studded my stock tires but was wondering if theres anything that would work anybetter? Quote
[email protected] Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 the green makes you slower :: Quote
dajogejr Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 If you mean a bunch of cold cutter screws, you're bascially wasting your time, unless they're just in the fronts. You need shaved off knobs and actual ice picks made for sled tracks... Here's a pic of the ones I'm picking up: (NOT my bike, but I'm buying his tires) http://www.planetsand.com/memberphotos/566288-100_1364.JPG Quote
420 RACING Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 I have 90 per tire, couple cuts making these... ooh....yeahhhh.... As for running sleds I was beating pro stock 1000's in 500 feet, on a weelie bar with those tires. New machz's zrt's f'7 it hooks pretty good on the grass with those studded tires. Quote
racer Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 Why would the color have to do with anything? because some colors radiate heat better than others, duh! lol Quote
