Bert Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 hey guys after a few years of not ridiing i bought a polaris sportsman 500.. ended up not really being my cup of tea so my father is taking it over and i'll be buying a banshee from a friends cousin within the next 2 months. i must say that the 4x4 came a long way cause that thing was pretty damn quick for something so big and heavy, and my friend has a prairie vtwin 700 and that thing is an animal but i need another banshee. i have a couple questions just because i need to be refreshed it's been like 4 years.. anyways i'm going to be getting a 96 banshee i want to get sst's reeds, and thinking a cool head possibly. my friend has a banshee but it's always broke. he has pipes, cool head, delta v force reeds, bored .20 over and wiseco pistons... is this thing unreliable because of the mods or is it just mainly because he beats the crap out of it? if they become that unrealiable when you put work into it then i'll just get a set off pipes and be done with it. last question is i can't remember who makes the fenders that are like round i'm going to want a set of them.. always wanted them before but back when i had mine i was only 15-16 and didn't have the money to dump in it like i wanted. anyways i'm getting the banshee for 1600.. thought this was a nice deal and figured i should jump on it Quote
bansheerage Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 well your friends banshee is broke only because he doesnt know how to work on it or the person who works on it screwed it up. we could help you more if you told us what was broke and the plastics i think your talking about are fullbores maybee. 400ccStroker_shee Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 well i guess now it needs a motor he said the case got cracked.. it keeps blowing the top end up i'm not sure why or how he's just been through like 3 rebuilds now he needs a whole motor he is saying... yea the plastics are fullbore now i remember that you mentioned it I would look for a different banshee to buy! Unless you want to spend a lot of money! since the case just got broke just ask him to give it to you! That shee sounds like a headaches because its not be treated right! Quote
sheefreak Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Agreed, sounds like a basket case. Now if he wants to sell it as is for $3-400, snatch it up! Quote
Animalman294 Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Yeah, sounds like a good parts bike to me, and the reason it is a basket case isn't because of the reliability of the bike, but the abuse that it has had to endure  Quote
Bert Posted November 15, 2006 Author Report Posted November 15, 2006 hey guys the banshee i'm getting didn't have all the problems my buddies banshee does.. he is always blowing it up.. but anyways i just talked to the kid the basnhee is a 97 black/red and it only needs axle bearings which he'll give me i just have to install. he wants 1400 bucks. i just gonna go check it out i'm most likely going to grab it while i have the opportunity and even if i have to do alittle odd and ends here and there i think it should be work it. let me know what you guys think Quote
