What's the best way to go about removing the front sprocket nut, I want to drop to a 13 tooth front sprocket, but I definately don't have a socket that fits the nut. You guys just use an adjustable wrench? Or does Yamaha make a special wrench for it? Thanks,

It's an 1 1/4 socket.

 Are you sure???????

its a metric, i want to say its 34mm or 36mm. it might end up being the exact same size as a stanard size, every few mectric sockets match the same standard ones.

That would be nice, because I probably have a 1 1/4 socket. My dad has a whole slew of abnormally large standard sockets that he gave to me.

Anyone else know what size the nut is? I'm gonna run after work today to Sears, and just pick up the right size socket. Thanks,

Yes it is 32mm, which is just a tad smaller than 1.250 inches. The american 1-1/4 will work fine.

It is the largest mushroom that our family has ever found! Eleven inches tall & more than four & a half inches wide...

you will also need an impact.

Nope, there are a couple of ways around that. You can put it in gear and hold the flywheel, or, a way that I'm not crazy about you can leave it in neutral and bunch the chain up in the case, and it will come off that way. Did it a couple days ago, I had done a few, but always used a big adjustable wrench, wanted to buy the socket finally, but just couldnt remember the size.
