Wertzy Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 So the parking brake pissed me off. I decided to rip it the fuck out. Was this the thing I was suppose to take off the rear brake? Along with the cable and shit obviously. Do I just leave this like this? Or should I cover it up with something? Quote

blak banshee Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 why did you remove it anyway? Quote
Wertzy Posted October 26, 2006 Author Report Posted October 26, 2006 It was basically useless. If I really want to stop my shee from rolling down a hill backwards, I'll just lift up the rearend so its at an angle. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 almost every aftermarket clutch perch you have to remove it any ways.. Quote
Wertzy Posted October 26, 2006 Author Report Posted October 26, 2006 Is there a cheaper way to block off that hole? I don't see spending $15 for a blockoff plate when I'm sure I could McGuyver it. I think I read somewhere that I could JB Weld a penny onto the hole? Quote
White06Shee Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 i would just use a block off plate they are 10 to 15 bucks on ebay thats not a whole lot of money Quote

(I baught one,,,looks good and only cost about $14 and change.) Quote
Wertzy Posted October 26, 2006 Author Report Posted October 26, 2006 Alright so another problem has come up. I guess there's another wire with a little "button" on the end of it. Its preventing me to rev out the engine cause it thinks the parking brake is engaged. How would I go about getting rid of this thing so I can get full use of my engine? lol Nevermind. I figured it out. I just pulled it out of the wire harness it connected to and now I can rev to the moon. :shoothead: Nevermind. I figured it out. tipat'shee Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 (edited) You guys are so helpful, i'm new on this site, and i can't believe all the information is in here! I had the same problem with parking brake just before i read this, and now my shee is ready for action. thanks. Edited November 6, 2006 by tipat'shee Quote
Bansh88 Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 You dont need a block off plate. Nothing is going to "build up" in it. No more than any other spot on the bike. Block off plate is a money making scheme designed for guys who cant get enough shiny bits of metal on their banshees. If someone made billet Banshee hubcaps with Iron Crosses or Flames, half these guys would own them! Take the electrical cable from your parking brake lever on the handlebars and disconnect it. Disconnect both ends and remove the fucker! Get a clutch perch and VOILA! Clean lever setup! Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 bansh your a east county hillbilly lol of course your going to say leave it open... and how is nothing going to build up in there? its a hole with a small rod sticking out of it... it will catch shit in there and build up... no its not going to hurt anything but 10-15 bucks big fuking deal. better then having a getto ass bike Quote
