fox_forma Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 you may need a richer pilot jet... how is compression as well? Does it run good after it has been started and warmed up Quote
banshee7 Posted October 25, 2006 Author Report Posted October 25, 2006 you may need a richer pilot jet... how is compression as well? Does it run good after it has been started and warmed up the motor is all stock...and yes once it warms up, it runs great! Quote
2strokespirit Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Had the same problem, just post it yesterday, richer pilot did the thing Quote
banshee7 Posted October 25, 2006 Author Report Posted October 25, 2006 Had the same problem, just post it yesterday, richer pilot did the thing yeah but it makes no sense because its all stock motor wise. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 yeah but it makes no sense because its all stock motor wise. makes no differance, temp changes can effect your jetting alot on a 2 stroke. Quote

dajogejr Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Before you take apart those carbs and fiddle with them, have you tried turning/adjusting the air screws at all? Turn each air screw all the way in, count how many turns. Then, turn each one 1/2 a turn out. If the bikes runs/starts really good...adjust them from there. But, if you end up with 1/4 or 1/2 turn out, then....yes, you need a bigger pilot... A. How old is this bike/motor.... B. Is it ALL 100% stock, as in stock pipes, stock air filter, stock aribox, lid, snorkle?? Quote
fox_forma Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 where do you live? Has there been a change in weather since this occured? Try going up a size or 2 on the pilot and see if it helps. Try turning the air screw in a half turn/ full turn and see if it starts easier as well, if so you need a richer pilot Quote

JET 99 Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 its a 97 have you had it bored, new pistons, rings, what is your compression like???????? if its that old and no work done on motor my guess is its telling you that it needs some attention Quote
