Was wondering what crank would be best to buy. I was looking at the Vitos one because its only 340 bucks. Also wondering if I could go with a stroker crank with stock porting and vitos super stock pistons and stock carbs, I dont know anything when it comes to stroker cranks as to what you need to change and that sorta stuff.

Thanks for the help.

if your wanting to get a stroker. get a hotrods 4m stroker 5m long rod... and have it rewelded...best bang for your buck for a crank

That would be the best option i think but he seems to want to keep his pistons. Long rod would need the longrod pistons which would be the best job.

or make a thicker shim which wouldnt be the greatest setup.

your wanting to reuse the ones you have or you mean keep oem pistons in there? if your just wanting to keep oems then spend a few extra bucks and get the wiescos they will by far out last those cast pistons your thinking of running.

You guys are forgetting one important thing. Yes forged pistons will last longer, BUT, they wear your bore out faster too. Stick to cast unless your doing a cub or some exotic porting work.

I already have the vitos super stocks, i bought them about 4 or 5 years ago when i rebuilt the top end, i rode the bike for about 10 hours when the clutch ball and push rod welded itself together inside the gear shaft, so there basically brand new. When the bike broke down i decided to the whole thing because its a 95. So i repainted everything and spent alot of money i couldnt afford to spend over the past 4 or 5 years. Im on the final stretch now, the crank is the last piece of the puzzle so im totally stoked!!

the forged wont hurt the sleeve enough to worry about... yes its a harder metal which inturn CAN make the motor scare faster but onyl if you stick the motor... thats why there is tolerances theres not enough wear csued to worry about trying to run a weaker piston...

Ive had good luck with vitos 4mill crank so far, mine is a older one and then I think the hotrods and vitos were both manufactored at the same place.I chose to run the short rod for my paticalar setup and it runs well. The biggest diffrence is the rod angle with the added stroke. The short rod will actully run a little harder than the long rod but has a steeper angle than the long rod so it stesses the piston a bit more.

Well I went to magic racing and dropped 360 with tax for a vitos stock crank on saturday. I wanted to get the stroker but the price is just too high for me. I know its not that much of a difference but I just want this bike finished and be able to ride it. I plan on building a new engine over the winter for it and then selling the one in it right now next spring. This way Ill have her running for the winter ice races on lake st. clair. Now I just have to paint the cases and put it together. I plan on power washing them, priming them with zync chromate primer, painting them with high heat paint, then spraying them with good shinny paint, then clear coating em a couple of times.
