I am starting to shop for a trailer that will hold 4 quads, with me having to get up and turn them (as in drive them on the back, and twist them sideways - opposite the tow vehicle)

 

so it would have to be either a drive up the side trailer

or a WIDE drive up the back trailer

 

probably a drive p the side trailer with the entire side being one huge ramp that pivots up and acts as a side when being towed

 

 

any experience with these?

 

most of them have small tires/wheels, and I usually have only have trailers with full size tires.....

 

I really dont like the ramps that store underneath, or fold under the quads, too much of a pain in the ass if you just want to go for a quick ride....

 

also, I think some type of deck box to store helmets/spare parts would be a good idea, possibly on the front of the trailer, just behind the hitch, on the tongue

 

 

looking for some opinions here

anyone have one like that?

It sounds like you are looking for a snowmobile trailer 8.5 x 16 or 20' long. This will hold 2 quads side by side so you can drive on and off.

 

As far as unloading and loading you have me stumped. I have had both tilt beds, flat with pull out ramps (Aluminum) and enclosed and for open trailers and for atv's I feel the pull out ramp is the way to go. If you get a drive on drive off trailer you can put the ramp on front and back thus you never have to yank the quads off.

 

In NY I deal with Blizzard Manufacturing in Old Forge/Boonville. they may have dealership in your area. They do have a web site just not sure of the link.

I went looking for the exact same trailer last year & talked myself out of the side-load type. There are too many times when you wouldn't be able to unload from the side in many parking areas. The aluminum trailers were waaay too high priced, so I had a trailer built to my specs.

It measures 16 ft long X 102 inches wide (max legal width). I mounted a chrome storage box that's about 6 ft long on the tongue for helmet & gear storage. The trailer has those lo-boy tires you see on snowmobile trailers & they are working out fine.

The ramp is mounted on the back on hinges & is split in the middle so you can just load one side.

The trailer holds four full-size quads easily, & It's sure great just driving on after a hard day of riding. If you want pics, I can post them.

Yeah, I am looking for an enclosed trailer about 16 feet. I can use it for storing the quads in instead of my garage............ :biggrin:

 

But with the prices that I have been seeing I think it is going to be cheaper for me to build the damn thing myself.............. :beer:

i have a trailer for sale fits 4 quads easy... you can modify the sides to drop down if you needed too but we have gotten boards before to just driveup the side... here is some pics with 4 quads on it..

Im looking into getting a enclosed trailer. I would like an 8x20 where would be the best place to get one of those

go to racingjunk.com then go to towing then trailers look there you might find something... let me know how it works out...

well I think I decided against the open trailer, and I think an enclosed will be the way to go

 

I was thinking an 8.5x16 with a V nose..... can get one brand new for $5,000

but I'm not in a hurry, so I think I am going to keep my eyes open for a used one

 

any suggestions? I know 8.5 is wide, but I really dont want wheel-wells to worry about, because I really want the side by side method for easy loading after a hard days ride

 

Here is an older one that is 8 foot inside without wheelwells, but these are impossible to find nowadays (its all either 7 foot without wells, or 8.5 wheels under)
