Umm, i usually change my transmission oil every 5-10 rides, check my spark plugs every once in awhile and see if i need new ones or not. Make sure that the coolant isnt low. Grease all the bushings, swing-arm up whenever they need it. Oil the chain before and after every ride. Umm can't think of anything else as of right now. Other guys will chip in

lube all the cables, grease the brake and clutch lever, grease the foot brake lever, check the rear axle bolts to be sure they are properly tightend.

wouldnt hurt to bleed the brakes.

Since you bought it used, I would strongly suggest to take apart the carbs and clean them, and if the TORS aren't removed, it wouldn't be a bad idea to knock that out. When I bought mine the guy said I just did everything to it. BullShit :shoothead: . Carbs were all full of dirt. Can't think of anything else right now. They pretty much got it covered.

i use tri-flow on the cables and chain, clean the air filter when ever it needs it,i change my oil ever 3-4 rides, grease the fittings about the same as the oil, same with the plugs, spray the chain every ride, and after i wash it.i only clean the carbs if they start acting up,i also clean my twist throttle before every ride.

wow you really over do it! change your oil every 3-4 rides? and grese the fittings the sme... theres no need to do it that often...and plugs should last you a while unless your super lean or super rich...

Ron...

Do a search...all this has been covered EXTENSIVELY...time and time again.

Gear oil, fuel type, Premix type, air filter oil, air filter type, chain oil, gas/oil ratio, etc. etc. etc. has been coverd dozens and dozens of times, and it's all about personal preference.

I use Yamalube 4R 10w30 and Yamalube 2R at 32:1 and of course "60% of the time, it works, EVERYTIME".

Whoa....that stuff is pungent. Sort of burns the nostrils.

Smells like gasoline...

Smells like Bigfoot's dick....

Classic, for sure....

Haha yeah, I wondered if anyone besides me and Ron would get that.

BTW I sure could use your advise in my T5 T6 Thread.
