While at D&M (a local banshee guy) I asked what kind of power I would gain if I switched to twin airfilters, he replied that I would gain about 3 hp . So asked why, and he said that on a normal K&n (big filter) the carbs fight for air so neither of them are getting the right amount. Is this true? Would I really gain 3 hp?

Agree with dawarriorman, if you had a complete airbox, even with a K&N element you would probably gain 3+ hp. With my T5's Toomey sent 280's if you were going to mod the airbox, vents and no snorkel, but running the 2:1 Unifilter setup, I ended up going with a set of 340's. So you figure the amount of air it takes to compliment 6 jet sizes and it should be worth 3 HP.

This guy at D&M is a fatheadif he thinks that pods give performance gains- they don't. Actually a single filter should give slightly better performance in theory- since each carb sucks air alternately from the other, they don't fight each other for air. In fact, since the air volume is always kept moving rather than the on/off vacuum a single carb gives, there should be a bit of scavenging effect. The reason to run pods is ease of carb tuning; it's a lot easier to open up the carbs with pods, most of the time I never take em off when tearing the carbs apart.

Ya thats why all us drag guys run air boxes.......they flow better!!!!!!!!!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!!! Yes dual K&N's will give a horsepower gain, what that gain is will be determined by the surrounding mods.
