BigRed350x Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Sounds to me like its time for a new top end. Whats your compression. Do like polish said and kick it over with one hand on the plug. Make sure there really is NO spark. Your stator would be more likely to have gone out than your CDI. Stators go out on the banshee quite often. Same with the coil. Quote

izericson Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 when you say pull start do you mean like get it pulled by another bike and dump the clutch in gear to start it? im confused if there is no spark to the plug when you kick it is it possible for spark to apear later. things arent adding up Quote
fast500#12 Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 (edited) my bike did the same thing when the cdi whent out. eliminate the easy stuff first stator, grounds, coil, ignition switch. also check ebay, i got a stock cdi for $80 worked like a charm. what ever you do don't get the procom engineering cdi it is trash and you will have the same problem. i went through 4 of them before they gave me my money back. i know that this sound retarded but, disconect your head lights and kick it if it starts then it is you cdi. there is something about the extra current draw even when the lights are off, the cdi doesn't produce enough juice to spark. i know they are different cuircuts on the stator and should have nothing to do with it, but i worked on my bike. i went through this many times on mine. dajogejr Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 You can get a Dyna CDI for under 300 brand new.... However, you can get a brand new stock CDI from Ricky Stator for 125. That's what I'd get.... Quote

flyingkermit Posted September 13, 2006 Author Report Posted September 13, 2006 I'd check the points and condensor first. Your positive both switches were on when you tested it? Sometimes mine doesn't like to start when one of the switches is off. :shoothead: J/K Yeah im sure my kill switch on the bars doesn't work but my key does and it was on Quote
