Handyman Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 (edited) Thsi si what I'll be driving. '06 Z71 Now for a short story.... first a pic This is what my dirtbike looked like this morning at 3am. I got home from work and started to get it all put back together. I was taking the bolts out( put them back in the holes So I wouldn't lose them) that hold the reed valve on. While I was taking out the first bolt I hit the frame and it fell in the crank case. I couldn't find it and thought it had fallen in the bottom end. I was so f**king pissed, Trying not to swear out loud at 3 am is not easy. I thought the only way to get that out was to remove the entire engine and tear it apart. I had given up and said "Well looks like the dirtbike isn't going anymore." As I turned around my knee hit the bike and I heard something clank as I was about to put the rag back over the openeing so nothing else fell into the lower end and that's when I saw the tip of the bolt off to the side of the piston. I sat there trying to figure out how to get it out with out knocking it into the case. Well me being an airframer working on the $35 million F/A-18 Hornets and has dropped shit in the voids in the jet thought "I wonder if it's magnetic....". Well shit I don't have a magnet". So I sat some more and saw my screwdriver in my hand that has changable tips and there is a small magnet that holds the tips in. SO I stuck a tip in the screwdriver and holy shit the bolt came out fell off the tip and right back in where it had gone before, tried it again and got the damned thing out. Got the reeds back in and called it a night at 4am. Let's just say I was so pissed when that bolt fell in, I almost said "F**k it I'm not going. I should be leaving first thing in the morning. I have to go to work and take care of some shit that I can't put off uintil next week. I should arrive in Fallon between 9am and 12pm Oh yeah... Pay not mind to the 660 that is buried under the boxes.....Bike is going back together once I get home Edited August 31, 2006 by Handyman Quote
