I heard from a few people that you will screw up your dyna cdi if you run the pro design emergency kill cord. anybody hear of that?

iv never heard that... i dont see how it would hurt it. all it does is breaks the electrical loop when the tether is pulled so it kills the motor

thats what I thought, but since I heard that I wanted to ask anyway.

just read the info that came with the dyna. it tells you right in the directions that it is fine to use a tehter kill switch as long as you hook it up right. i think you have to hook it up with a normally open switch, but i could be remembering wrong.

Banshee364 is correct.It's not recomended to wire the switch to the coil.spliceing it to the handlebar switch is the way to go.

I'll have to look at my directions myself. I thought I read it shouldn't be hooked up to the CDI itself, and it should be hooked up to the coil...

 

There is something special about a tether kill and the coil...will have to dig a bit.
