my shee currently has the timing advance but not sure how far. the plate is turned about quarter of a inch. i was told that is about +7. my mods are a clean up port job, 19cc cut head thanx to rudy kurtz, ported rad valve cages with reeds, filter pods, t5's and running 115 octane fuel with 180psi of compression. how much timing do you think i can run? i only drag it at a 500ft. dirt track.

i was wrong it was only 1/8 in. i moved it a 1/4in. and it ran fine but only ran a couple min. and the pipes got pretty hot so moved it back to 3/8in. i am going to get a timing plate next week

Stock Crank? It is welded?

If not...you're wasting your time going any further...

If yes...

8 to 10 degrees on a plate for 500ft drags is fine, as long as your jetting is dialed in...
