Ting Ting Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 I have mine Powder coated with clear sprayed it holds up alot longer and I love my powder coat. It just holds up alot longer and now they have so many colors to choose from it endless. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 there is advantages and disadvanteges of both but I think PC is generaly better. Quote
Dinner Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 As said above PC holds up a lot better. I painted my frame from red to black with gloss black rust paint. With a layer of clear coat. It turned out pretty good i think. And is holding up better than i thought. Before: After: Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 After researching I would have to say P Coating. Quote
Mod4 Posted August 19, 2006 Author Report Posted August 19, 2006 After researching I would have to say P Coating. Seems like the better choice. Quote
banshee364 Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Seems like the better choice. I just had my frame and my wife's lt-250 frame PC'ed. Could not be happier. Looks sick and is tough as nails. It holds up way better than paint, and is thicker. It cost me about 120 per frame. Mine is done in gloss black and hers is blue with silver metallic clearcoat. It is well worth it. Plus, there is no prep work for you. You just tear down the bike, take in the frame, and they do all of the work. They sandblast it and then put it in a bake-off oven to clean all the oil out of the metal. Great process. I have pics if you want to see the finished product. Quote
[email protected] Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 condom or chance it ..... Powdercoat protects ....... paint chips and looks ugly I own 1 powdercoat and 2 paints.. i speak from experince. Quote
