When redoing your frame, which is better, powder coated or painted?? Why??

It's my second Powder coated frame and I like it a lot.Very strong paint,nice looking. I recommend it to you :thumb:

I have mine Powder coated with clear sprayed it holds up alot longer and I love my powder coat. It just holds up alot longer and now they have so many colors to choose from it endless.

there is advantages and disadvanteges of both but I think PC is generaly better.

As said above PC holds up a lot better. I painted my frame from red to black with gloss black rust paint. With a layer of clear coat. It turned out pretty good i think. And is holding up better than i thought.

I just had my frame and my wife's lt-250 frame PC'ed. Could not be happier. Looks sick and is tough as nails. It holds up way better than paint, and is thicker. It cost me about 120 per frame. Mine is done in gloss black and hers is blue with silver metallic clearcoat. It is well worth it. Plus, there is no prep work for you. You just tear down the bike, take in the frame, and they do all of the work. They sandblast it and then put it in a bake-off oven to clean all the oil out of the metal. Great process. I have pics if you want to see the finished product.

Powdercoat protects ....... paint chips and looks ugly I own 1 powdercoat and 2 paints.. i speak from experince.
