Cotton eyed Joe Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Now, just let me say I know nothing about the old school 2 stroke street bikes. Hell, I do'nt know much about the new bikes coming out. But after seeing its a 125cc, and hearing it in that video, it takes me back to when my little sister had a Blaster and I rode it out here in front of my shop on the street. It didn't exactly rip me off the bike and leave me in the middle of the road on my back. In fact, it sucked ass. 19srwhp / 320lbs is what I found the stock Blasters horsepower and weight to be. What is the weight and horsepower of this street bike? I think I'd be afraid to get on the freeway with it. :baseball_wassat: If I'm off the mark, let me know. Like I said I don't know shit about these kinds of street bikes. Quote
csrmel Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 street bikes dont need as much power to accelerate quickly or attain high speeds as a blaster does for a number of reasons. mainly areodynamics and also 4 wheelers with their knobby tyres have assloads more rolling resistance than a street bike with street tyres. to give an example, i had a 125cc 4 stroke honda enduro that i put street tyres on. i could do 75mph all day long. it sure wasnt very quick getting up to 75 but it got there and did it at a respectible rpm sence i had road sprockets installed. if my stock 4 stroke motor could get me to 70 with big enduro fenders and such then this bike should hit atleast 100. i know theres honda nsr 2 strokes with 125cc engines i think that do over 100 with a little porting and a good exhaust over in europe. so this ducati isnt going to be the fastest thing out there. it isnt going to be lightning quick acceleration either, but it should be respectible in what they can do with an engine so small. Meat Posted August 9, 2006 Author Report Posted August 9, 2006 I bet it rips like a 125cc dirtbike.... like a 1987 125cc dirbike. :baseballcap_yellow: ..... i remember the cagiva dirtbikes, but iv never seen this streetbike before. I like the undertail exhaust pipes. Looks like something out of Tron. specs for an '89. http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/cagiva_12...reccia_1989.php Specs for Cagiva's 2006 125cc crotch rocket. 70HP ! http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/cagiva_mito_125_2006.php Quote
ScreamingLiL2Stroke Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 You gotta watch the 125cc class of ama superbikes race they fly! Quote
dawarriorman Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 If its a v-twin (im guessing here cuz its a street bike, and has dual mufflers) it shouldn't be too much of a slouch. Probably high 30s hp. Maybe over 40 hp. Id still rather have an rz350 for a 2 stroke street bike though. Quote
BenBB Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Specs for Cagiva's 2006 125cc crotch rocket. 70HP ! http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/cagiva_mito_125_2006.php Holy crap! Not a single motor pic  Quote
