race-a-holic Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Well, quads and bikes are banned for now. I had a pretty bad wreck today. Before time trials started I had made several easy launches to see how it would act.Everything seemed fine.Right before the trials started, bigboybanshee and I was going to make some hard launches.I was in the left lane.As soon as I dumped the clutch,it made a very sharp turn to the right. The banshee hit the rail guarding the tree.I went over the bars and hit the railing with my shoulder and collar bone and then I hit the track.I thank God I had on my chest protector.I'm really sore and bruised some.Nothing is broke though. I'm glad Travis is fine too.My wife and little girl saw me crash.Travis' wife saw it too.I'm glad though that I crashed when I did and not run out in front of Travis. It could have been "ALOT" worse. DUNE-A-TIC Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Dammn, that could have been ugly! Glad it turned out the way it did though and your "ok". Dune Quote
race-a-holic Posted July 24, 2006 Author Report Posted July 24, 2006 I'm going to be ok,but I feel like a baseball team took bats to me. :baseball_bat: Quote
bigboybanshee Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Is that spot on your shoulder the worst of your injuries? I saw where you had skinned your elbows up a little when you were laying on the track... I cringe every time I see the video of it. Was amazing how fast it happened. I'm so thankful that you were able to get out of this with no broken bones, etc. Quote
race-a-holic Posted July 24, 2006 Author Report Posted July 24, 2006 My right arm hurts when I use it.My back is pretty sore. My left shoulder/collar bone took the worst hit.Steel and bone don't mix. Thank goodness the chest protector took some of the hit."great investment" I can't say that enough. Quote

I know my collar bone would have broke if I didn't have it on. I remember when I hit.I remember hitting the ground. I don't drink but the e.r. gave me some pain pills and my doctor gave me some muscle relaxers.I'll be ok,and you guys might not be believers, but I know I was being looked out for.I'm not preaching or trying to shove religion down your throat. Just how I feel.I know I could have been paralyzed or even killed. Like my name says(race-a-holic),I'll ride again. Maybe not on asphault anytime soon though. I couldn't agree more....everyone out there thought you were in BAD shape by the way you hit. People were talking about you breaking your collar bone, neck, all kinds of stuff...but you know how people like to talk. It was a miracle that you didn't end up on a stretcher, I think we all were thanking God once we saw you walking  Quote
race-a-holic Posted July 24, 2006 Author Report Posted July 24, 2006 I was happy to be able to move my toes and hands after I hit the asphault, but I'd like to have told those guys talking about broken collar bones, ribs, and even someone dying before to "SHUT UP,YOU'RE NOT HELPING!" :: LOL! :yelrotflmao: This was the first real wreck I've ever been in.I've never flipped over backwards, sideways,or anything like that.I'm a very cautious rider.Start out with a bang I guess.LOL! Aint that the truth, man. I've been in a really bad car accident where I have no clue as to how I even got out of the vehicle. The 'shee can be replaced, but you cant. Quote
