jakehopt Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 Soon i'm g etting my first banshee, hopefully within this month...I have a few questions... My banshee will have it's main use in open area/bumpy open area... The banshee i'm getting is a fully stock 06, i'm just wondering if you have any part suggestions that I should change from stock to better in that area. Thanks Quote
Animalman294 Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 Well welcome to the HQ man. If you are doing a lot of jumpin' and bumpy areas, then you may want to work on your suspension. Then once you get used to ridin' it, then you can go for the go fast goodies, reeds, filter, pipes, heads, carbs, etc. it is going to be very addictingso I hope your bank account is on steroids .................. Quote
liquedfire Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 well im no pro but............ heres what i would do 1. Air filter (k&N air filter) 2.Shocks (works or elka) 3.set of rear tires (razor or holeshots 20") and if u go the money a set of pipes (fmf or Dg or what ever is a good deal on ebay :baseball_w00t: ) thats about all i can think of p.s and a cub Quote
jakehopt Posted July 18, 2006 Author Report Posted July 18, 2006 Thanks guys... My friend suggested getting Toomey t6's, what's your take on that? Quote
flipcarre Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 IMO Toomey T6s would be great for that kind of riding, but when and if you get your ports polished up you'll want to get a set of T5s, much better performance for that mod. Quote
Hilarious Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Pro flow intake system. Clamp on K&N or Foam filter kit, should be #1 on your list. The stock air filter assembly is junk. Then a good set of pipes and so on. Once you start adding stuff to your ride, it's hard to stop. Main thing is have fun. Welcome to the BHQ. Quote
[email protected] Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 if your gunna spend the money on a set of pipes and plan for more upgrades in the future . I suggest shearer . Will out perform the majority of the pipes on the market . Quote
jakehopt Posted July 19, 2006 Author Report Posted July 19, 2006 A'ight thanks ya'll, I'll keep ya posted on what I end up doing to it. Quote
Animalman294 Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 The Shearer's are excellent pipes, but if you want an all around pipe then go with theT-5's and skip the T-6's. But if you are doing a lot of dragging, or plan on doing higher end mods (not just bolt-ons) then go with the Shearer's................ Quote
jakehopt Posted July 19, 2006 Author Report Posted July 19, 2006 (edited) There is a lil problem in our equation though... I also have a TTR-125L, and my dad and brother have bikes themselves. We often take all the bikes to our local tracks. They DO have a seperate quad track, but from what I hear the banshees have alot of problem with MX/Low end. I want to be able to ride the track, and I don't want be held TOO far behind. Edited July 19, 2006 by jakehopt Quote
decon Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 If you want an all around bike with good low-mid...try a set of pt mids, then next in line I would say dmc's or fatty's. For the price I would go with fatty's, they have good low end and a solid midrange and still rev out nicely...remeber for mx you want a pipe with midrange not top end.. About the mx track...its not just the low end that banshee's have a problem with it's the outdated suspension. It hasn't changed since 1987 so you have to make the best of it. I'm now saying you CANT ride a banshee on a mx track it's just you have to work harder. But if you invest in some aftermarket suspension it wont be as hard. If your just messing around on a track then I wouldn't see the need for suspension just yet, but trust me you will love if when your bike handles much better and takes those jumps like a champ. I've riden an axis suspension setup, and that thing rode like a cadilac...just my 2 cents... Quote
jakehopt Posted July 19, 2006 Author Report Posted July 19, 2006 Alright here's my top list of parts to add... 1.Toomey T6's 2.Pro Design Pro Flow Foam Kit 3.k&N air filter 4.Elka Shocks 5.RAZR Tires (front and rear) Quote
