dashee03 Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 OK i want to advance my timing by 4 . But i heard that can raise your compression. I really like using 93 octane .With the mods i already have what will be my compression and can i still use 93. Thanks Quote

It does, however, create the need to run higher octane fuel, especially in conjuction with higher compression. I hear that around 155 psi (no timing advance) or so you need to start running a mix of race gas. When I put 4* of timing (stock 122psi compression) in my bike I ran 20% Trick 116 to be safe. Now that I have 175 psi (190+ at sea level) and 4* timing I run straight Trick 116. Let us know what your compression psi is and then we can talk more. Quote
TeamBigginRacing Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 (edited) how much compression do you have to upgrade to race gas... I think 155-160 or so, not 100% My bike was @ 175 or so and i use to run 40/60(2gal 93-3gal110+) then did some lookin around HQ now i run 110+ all the time! BigRed350x Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 where do you find 110+ octane? :thumb: Ask your local stealership. I live in a town with a lot of natural gas and oil drilling in the area and its easy to order race gas. I get 55gal drums of 115 ocatane for $270 if I bring the drum back and $300 if I need a new drum ordered. I get it at a local fuel depot called Homax Oil. They sell a lot of methanol, antifreeze, oil, normal gas, diesel, etc. I can get methanol for free, so I'm going to convert over some time next month. Quote
