Rebel3190 Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 Im re-building my top end and bent a small part of the gasket under the cylinders, but straitened it with pliars what do i look for to see if its losing power, cause ive never ridden with this top end. Quote
bansheefreak Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 i would replace it.. just for the fact its cheaper now while its apart then after you get it together and then it leaks you be replacing even more gaskets... or new topend if it leans out... Quote
DIRTMAN350 Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 IMO i would replace the gasket. Better to do it now and it is alot cheaper in long run if you nuke your motor. Quote
Rebel3190 Posted July 10, 2006 Author Report Posted July 10, 2006 But when torqued down shouldnt it flaten out,how long could i ride it like this?I just really dont feel like takin those damn things off again, and am aching to get the motor back together and ride is there ANY other solution? Quote
2stroker4ever Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 I ALWAYS replace any gasket you break the seal of, when putting things back together.. Quote
csrmel Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 i know it sucks but you really need to replace that gasket. Quote
Dark Ranger Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Think of it this way, if you replace it now you will have peace of mind plus it will be done right. Otherwise you may find yourself replacing it before you even get to ride it anyway not to mention maybe cleaning a bunch of anti-freeze off your garage floor. Quote
