ellison445 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Steel Wool and Simplegreen or Steel wool and windex Quote
WALLACE84 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 My step dad did that to his cr500, do what ellison said Quote
Bansh88 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I've found NOTHING works. If you have a tiny, smooth, discolored patch? Steel wool will help. Otherwise, you're fucked. I have a set of T5s and FMFs. Both have Oneal and Shift pants on them. It's on there for life Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 If you have a heavy buildup on there, get the pipes good and warm, to more or less re-liquify the pants and use a razor blade very carefully (don't scratch the chrome) to remove excess pants. Then let the pipes cool, so the pants will reharden. Then take some at least #00 steel wool, I use #0000, and it will come right off. Despite what Bansh88 said, I've had this happen several times, and my pipes still look absolutely brand new. Last time I rode I had a guy with a set of shitty looking 3 month old PC's ask me if my pipes were brand new. They were a year and a half older than his. Quote
gregbowler Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 this really works did it yesterday. It takes alot of elbow grease though !!! Quote
Animalman294 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Yea, I would like to find a chrome heat shield that you can cover the pipes with and not burn your pants. I got a nice pair of pants a few years ago for christmas and haven't worn them at all, because I am afraid they are going to get Fu**** up on my pipes. I already have remnants of the previous owner on there, and need to figure out how to get it off. Quote
