i siezed my 421 cheetah this weekend at sand mtn, nv. it appears that i burned through a small portion of the nikasil plating near one of the ports. i have a 4mil crank and trinitys website says that a 4mil crank will make a 485 cheetah. do i bore out to a 485 or repair the nikasil in the one cylinder since it only hurt one side? who does nikasil near ca

The 485 is with a +4 crank and a 73mm bore... I'm not sure if you can just bore it out to 73 and have it re-nikasiled. That would be nice if you could though... I'm sure some of the builders like K&T or FAST would know... or you could sit on hold with Trinity for a coulpe hours :wacko:

did you get the cylinders with plating? or bare? if its not too old mellinium may "warranty" the plating if it was their fault..

 

i think the 485 4mm is with the big cheetah's as well..
