Animalman294 Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 My thought would be to check the reeds for cracks, but you said the compression was fine. It still wouldn't hurt to check. Is your jetting right, sounds like it may be a carb problem. My dads ran like crap for a while and we discovered that he was missing the crossover tube on the carbs. Good luck man.......... Quote
racer Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 gearing too high to pull the 5/6? i mean if 1-4 run like a top, then the motor should be in at least OK condition. Quote
watkins Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 You said that your leak down test was not good. If you have an airleak then i would start there. Quote
dajogejr Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 What do you mean by leakdown test no good? Warm it up...spray the shit out of it around the base gaskets first. Then, the intake boots, lastly the head. If it doesn't try to die out on you...most likely a crank seal. I would question gearing as well...however, you never mentioned if it pulled that gearing before or not in 5th and 6th... Quote
