onetwistedaccord Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 i want to remove the bottle.. The line that runs from the radiator to the bottle do i cap it off at the radiator or?? Anybody removed there coolant bottle?? Quote
racer Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 dont cap it off, the pressure will vent somewhere and thats the best place for sure. i have mine removed and just have a hose that runs down the frame and vents to the atmosphere around the pipes somewhere. Quote
Bansh88 Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I routed the hose straight down. Cut it at about 4 inches under the frame Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Ya, there are a lot of people who don't run them at all and they exit them out the bottom. You just need to check the level a little more often so you don't have problems, but it wont hurt anything. Others like the insurance just in case they are out in the middle of nowhere, but its your. I'm probably going to remove mine because I am getting rid of my airbox and getting pods.......... Quote
carter71 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 You might get away with taking it off. Then again , maybe you wont. It's part of a system that is designed to keep all the air out of your radiator for the best possible cooling. Do yourself a favor and buy a bracket, or grab a piece of aluminum and make your own, like I did. Water will transfer heat 10 times faster than air Quote
