Okay, not sure if this has been discussed, but it probably has at one time or another.

I currently have a 12-port 4mil stroker. I have the cool head, v-force reeds, 34PJ's, FMF SST's. I have a Dyna FS Ignition. I thought something was wrong with it due to detonation problems. Dynatek tested it and said it was fine.

What would be a better set up...a new 200 watt Ricky Stator with adjustable timing plate and a new coil, or would using the Dyna be the best route to go?

ive got the dyna fs and works great. and u dont need the advance timeing plate with it . i was told to keep your timing at stock

yeah put your plate at 0. the dyna will put the curve into it. if you have it programmed they can put like 4 deg here or there depends on what the programmer decides to do.

WHAT ARE YOU USEING FOR FUEL. ALSO I HAVE BOTH THE DYNA AND THE RICKY STATOR TIMING PLATE AND STATOR. WHEN I WENT TO THE DYNO THERE WAS LESS THAN A HORSE POWER DIFFERENCE ON MY SET UP BETWEEN THE 3 POWER CURVES AND 5 DEGREE'S BUT IF YOU CAN FIGURE OUT WHY YOU HAVE DETONATION I WOULD JUST STICK WITH THE DYNA. I KNOW I SAID THERE POWER CURVES BECUASE THE 4TH WAS THE STOCK SETTING I USED WITH THE FIVE DEGREES TIMING.

are they off the shelf domes or some ones jim hooked you up with??

if off the shelf call jim he can get you some domes that will work with your setup.

something sounds wierd with your timing and octane.

They are the domes that Jim gave me. I think it was the timing...thats why I sent the Dyna back to have them test it. I have about 5 hours on the rebuild so far. Still working on the jetting...but I plan on ordering the shearers next week. I was also thinking about the 200 wat Ricky Stator and a new coil.
