shehan Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 Two weeks ago, I purchased a 2006 banshee, the black SE model. Wow what a difference between the shee and my 03 raptor. Anyhow, the dealership said they put it through three heat cycles...and that it was ready for me to go out and thrash. My first day out I put a solid 5 hours on it with the only problems being sore face muscles from smiling so much. The next time I went to take it out, I couldnt get it to start. Choke out, kickin' and kickin' to no avail. Finally roll started it and had no problems after that restarting. I just registered here, and started using the search function - but didnt see anyone with brand new starting problems. I plan to take it back in to have it looked at, but looking for ideas on the problem. thanks in advance, i'm glad i found this site. Quote
ledofthezep Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 make sure the air filter is clean & I'd definately take a look at the plugs...may be fouled Quote
race-a-holic Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Were you hitting the throttle while you was trying to start it?Sounds like you just flooded it out.It happens.Don't give it gas until it sounds like it's fixing to start. Quote
batoutofshell Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 shouldn't have to give it any gas pull choke and kick Quote
sandman Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Double check your mix ratio in respect to what oil you're using & put new plugs in . Once you've done that choke it & kick. NO GAS WHILE KICKING! My 2005 with stock pipes didn't exactly jump at the idea of starting cold either. I have found that one of the many benefits of getting aftermarket pipes is easier starting. The banshee just seems stuffed up with stock pipes. Quote
Bansh88 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Stock bikes are hard to start. Once I got pipes on my '02 it started with ease everytime. Quote
