cdwood37
I have a 421 cub on race gas with 35mm air strykers plus 4 timing and i need some good pipes for it what would be better cpi or shearers, i don't ride trails much mostly sand washes and open roads and drag racing and hill climbing

Tim C
Both would be an excellent pipe for what your running but most say that the Shearers are making a few more HP then the CPI's
bansheeseat$$
I would recommend cpi's.I have them on my cub and power valve cheetahs and over the weekend I was smokin drag shees with out of frame pipes. My .02 cents.
23champ
The Shearer are deff. a good pipe. They pull harder than the CPI once you get moving. But the CPI leave the line MUCH harder than the shearer. My brother had a set of shearers last year, while I was running the CPI. Our bikes were set up basically the same (421 cub) and we built both motors at the same time. Mine would jump him pretty good out of the hole,he would slowly gain on me the whole track, but by the time we crossed the finish line it was too late. Mine would outrun him prolly 4 out of 5 passes. Dont get me wrong, the shearer are an awsome pipe. You could tell they pull harder after jumping off mine and on to his. The CPI would just jump it to much off the line to catch up...Perhaps a slight change in gearing may have helped him out?
odaen
both are excellent pipes, and don't think you can go wrong. the shearers add that wow factor though once you hit the face of the torque curve.
2bzy2p
cpis are a good gaurenteed pipe,, shearer in some motor setups work better! some just a slight under cpis! my choice id run shearers but cpis are good
