JKJK Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Yes it is possible. On the end of the shift drum, there is a brass pin that(when in neutral) comes in contact with the screw located on the white plastic cover that seals the case on the stator side.It is there for that very purpose. It is still there from when yamaha designed old rd+rz for street use. Blackmon Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 what extra parts would be required for this mod and how would you wire it up? Quote
bodge Posted April 20, 2006 Author Report Posted April 20, 2006 found this info .. so does this mean the banshee has no bits inside for the neutral switch? ive not got my banshee yet can some one test the output from the screw head in neutral on there banshee? there should be a earth there when its in neutral. The stock stator doesn Quote
bodge Posted April 20, 2006 Author Report Posted April 20, 2006 what extra parts would be required for this mod and how would you wire it up? 504719[/snapback] to wire it up would be easy. you need a 12 v bolb and wire one side to ign +, the other side of the bulb goes to the screw head on the neutral swith lighting the bulb when in neutral. ogre03 Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 That's a sorta cool little guage you got there, but my question is why? I don't see why knowing what gear you are in is worth all that. I know when I need to shift up or down and I do it. What # the gear is really doesn't much matter. Either way, it's your bike if you like it than . Doesn't sound like it will be all that hard for you to hook it up. Quote

racer Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 maybe you could wire it to the floor of your fridge to display you number of remaining beers. Quote
Wallrat Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 I don't think you want to wire it into the ignition power. Try wiring it into the lighting wires coming from the voltage regulator. Quote
mnduner Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 deffinately wire it through the lighting circuit if you do use it Quote
