It's tough to say, my buddy just did something similar to his shoulder. It was sore for about a week or so, and then he had to be easy on it. I wouldn't push it if I were you, put ice on it and let it rest. Better to completely heal before putting more stress on it.

mine took 6 weeks to straighten out. but I disloacted it in 3 places.(shoulder joint, shoulder blade and collar bone). F'd it up REAL GOOD. slipped on gravel in a parking lot where I worked. tucked into a forward roll cause I couldn't catch my balance and landed square on the shoulder blade. I hit so hard, it pushed my arm around my side and I was touching my back from the wrong side(touch your right hand to your left hip and picture your elbow at about where your wrist is.OUCH!). Cracks/Pops like a mofo still to this day and the collar bone still slips out once in a while(mostly if I sleep on it wrong), but for the most part it's cool now. My advise is even if it feels good by the next time you ride, give it another week. It might not hurt, but it will still be weak. and like bigboybanshee said, ice and lots of rest for it.

i did the same thing when i wiped out on my banshee a few years back,,, it took about 5-6 weeks to fully heal,, the first week was the worst, could barely pick up my arm

i was back riding again in about 2 weeks,, but had to take it easy

Hey peter, you should really see a doctor bro, you may have a fracture somewhere..better be safe than sorry.. let us know how it goes..

You better go to a doctor. I did the same thing when I was doing some cage fighting. I fell to the mat with a guy and poped mine out, had to quit the match so it sucked real bad. Went into the hall put it back in and it was sore for a couple weeks then felt fine. Went to wrestling with my brother and it poped out again so I put it back in. The the next day it poped out when I was putting my shirt on. About a year later I went to the doc and ended up tearing the labrum or something like that so I had to get surgery. Was out of work for 3 months and now I can't compete in cage matches anymore. Doc says he will see me or some other doc will see me when I am about 40 because of the damage I did with it hurt.

The first time I did that it took a good 8 months before I could put my hand up shoulder height, with my elbow facing down, palm up (think about holding a squat bar)

The second time I did it, it took a few months but it didn't hurt nearly as bad. Could use it, but limited. Maybe 4 months.

Recently. Its kind of nagging right now but so far the least amount of pain out of all 3 times. If I warm it up good I can use it no problems.

i'm no doctor so i'm not gonna tell you this or that, but as a first responder i'd say that you should get it looked at to be on the safe side. you can easily cause more severe damage to it under a less stressful situation if there is an underlying injury. B)

I seperated my shoulder it sucks and took about 3 weeks to heal fully. Anyways my sister is a physical therapist so she showed me some exercises that really helped. Maybe you should go that route.
