If you would've told me I'd be using smaller mains than a stock motor before I built it...I'd tell you you're off your rocker. However...I'm experiencing just that. This is not going to be an all out drag bike...plan on some fast trails and some play dune riding/racing with buddies.... After this year, it might become a drag bike...then I'll go all out and probably look at a YFZ or 450R for trails, etc. Everybody says to run larger carbs for more HP...but, this bike should be in no shortage of top end... Tomorrow should be interesting...for sure! Quote

Left side cylinder is pissing out air...won't hold 6 PSI at all...just leaks all out. So...pretty much any jetting or any carb in the world wouldn't have saved this build. Just wanted to give you all a head's up. I could publish step by step and the part numbers I used to build my own leak down tester...if anyone is interested.... Quote

dajogejr Posted April 30, 2006 Author Report Posted April 30, 2006 It's the base gasket on the left side. Didn't even pull the side cover off...it bubbled up after I sprayed water/soap on it... I'm ordering a new base gasket from Jeff, and I already have two brand new crank seals on standby in case I need 'em. It's pissing air so badly that I Have to put a new base gasket on first before I can pressurize it again to test the crank seals... Stay tuned. Quote

Dynoedge in Ortonville MI ended up shaving the top of the cylinder, shaving the head to get it to seal, and a thicker base gasket. There are two runs on here, the lower showing the motor before the leaks were fixed, as you can see right where it started pulling coolant into the mix. The second is the latest run, which they said the jetting was just a tad fat, so..figure another couple HP. I'm impressed. Keep in mind this is stock carbs, K&N Pods and T5 Pipes. I'll get it back this weekend...can't wait to go for the "Ride"... Thanks to all... Quote
