toomey 2:1 filter

is the toomey 2:1 that comes in the t5 chrome kit any good? and also will the jet kit that comes with the pipes work cause ive heard ppl use mains in the 300's and the kit comes with 280's

 

any info appreciated

I'm running that intake t-5s with 280s in my carbs. I'm located in NJ so I'm not at a really high alt.

This should really be in the jetting forum, but first off altitude and temp. is going to play a part in your jetting too. I'd buy some 300's and 290's too. Try the 300's first, then work your way down till it revs out clean. Better to start rich and lean it out to the right main. You should get needles in that kit too I think. If I remember right they are dynojet needles. T run mine in the 4th clip position down from the blunt end. Out of 6 positions on the dynojet needles. (stock has 5)
