csrmel Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 i have a diesel parts washer which features a cirulation pump. basically its a grate over a tub of diesel fuel and you clean the dirty parts with a nylon bristle brush while running diesel over them. i am wondering if diesel fuel would have a negative effect on the oring in an oring chain. in the yamaha manual it says you can use kerosene to clean the chain. sence kerosene is similar to diesel, i was wondering if this would work without messing up the rubber orings in the chain? thanks. wildbansheeboy Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Yes u can use diesel to clean your chain and no it will not hurt your o rings.I have 5 diesel tractors and o-rings are used in the fuel systems to help seal fittings. Quote
DIRTMAN350 Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 yes you can use diesel to clean your chain. diesel contains oil so that it will lube your o-rings too. Quote
