80overShee Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 That 'orangish-brown' stuff is anti-freeze but DEFINITELY not the stuff you want to be running. It is called "Dex- Cool" and is made for newer model GM vehicles (not sure of others) and is supposed to cool a little better than conventional antifreeze. Well the truth is out...its GARBAGE, it eats your seals, smokes your bearings and still only cools the same as the 'green stuff'. Personally, I run distilled/anti-freeze at 50/50 but in the crotch rocket quad my friend runs we run Engine Ice and you definitely notice a difference in the temp gauge. I'll be switching to Engine Ice soon enough but at $20 a half gallon its a bit pricey if you need to break the engine down for anything. Guess I'll have to invest in a water pump cover with a drain plug. Quote
