Water pump seal

Hay guys I am needing some help my dad is having to change out my water pump seal because i am in dallas four hours away from my bike . He is having trouble finding the pin of the water impeller shaft itself .

It should be #4 on the diagram on the water pump. It is all the way on the bottom of the list thanks.

do you mean your looking for the part? or he can't find it while he is working on it. but if you are looking for the part, i would try albaaction.com

he's got to pull the whole clutch side cover off to get to it. the clip,gear and pin are on the inside of that cover.

Sorry didnt make it clear he has all ready removed the clip and washer. He was wondering if you pull the gear off first or if the pin has to come out first. I would imagine u would pull the gear off first then you would be able to tap out the pin and the pull out the impeller itself.

take off the circlip, then the pin, then the shaft pulls through from the water pump side after you take off the gear

You have to pull the C-clip, then the gear. Once they are out of the way you will see the pin that slides out, remove that and some washers if i'm not mistaken. Then the whole shaft removes, and just reverse the whole process for install.

 

 

The gear is sloted like a plus sign (+) on the back so that pin fits in there and won't fall out. Acting like a key in a keyway also so that the shaft turns. Hope that helps.
