DonnG03shee Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 I have a set of cheetah cylinders with a standard port job. Can I run a 4mm crank and spacer and benefit from this or am I just wasting my time and money? One person said I could. One said my port timing would be wrong and would not work. Quote
odaen Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 Yes it will work, but you'll have to get some machining done. You'll need some domes cut for the negative deck height that is gonna be required to get your transfer port timing down low enough. Probably have to run a funky piston/rod setup (like a pair of short rod pistons with a long rod) and run a very thick base gasket too. Good luck PM me if you have questions. Should be able to point you in the right direction. Quote
lowriderb Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 are the cylinders the 350 cylinders or the 4mm cylinders.. because the 4mm cylinders you will not need a spacer plate in order to run them, just big bore domes (68mm bore). if they are 350 cylinders then you should talk with the person that ported them and see what they say about it, more than likely they would rather set it up in the port work for that crank..
