I was wondering if I can use toomey t5 silencers and stingers with stock headers? I bought a pair of t5's really cheap and just wanted to know if I had to buy the head pipes also. Or if I could just get away with just using the silencers for now without having to buy expensive head pipes?

there's probably a way you could mod the stingers in such a way you could run your T5 silencers. It won't give you any performance gain/loss probably, but it will be quite a bit louder most likely.

The "expensive" part of the pipe is the most crucial for peformance gains.

Keep your eye out in the forsale forums. They can be had very affordably.

I know they wouldn't gain me any power I just couldn't pass them up. They were a year old and in mint shape for under $100.

Instead of having them just sit there, I figured maybe I could just use them with my stock pipes until I had enough money for toomey headpipes. My 88 is currently in the shop and haven't had a chance to see if they would fit or not.

Thanks for the input though. If anyone has anymore tips let me know!!

You can't use them without ruining them. Look for some T5's and complete the set. The Toomey silencers/headers have a different linking location that stock pipes. FMF's are use able with stock components but Toomey is not.

You WILL gain a little bit from using them if you can somehow mount them up unlike what other people say. Any time you don't have to blow through baffles and you can strip weight, you will benefit. It wont be huge though.
