rugrat30263 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 I am getting ready to but my banshee back together and happened to break 2 of the studs off in the top half of the case. I am going to have to drill them out but was wondering what you think would be better to put in for new threads a Helicoil or a keensert? What kind of torque will the helicoil hold? I know that the nut on the stud gets torqued to 20ft/lbs. Someone told me that a helicoil isnt good for much over that. Thanks for any help Quote
NYUK Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 i have done helicoils in cylinders and had them pull right out, i used threaded inserts, industrial loctited in and they never moved, never had a problem. Quote
Tim C Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 I'd try an Easy-Out and a little heat before I drilled them and put in a helicoil Quote
