AVIDARCHER Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 (edited) I'M A NEWBY TO THE ROPES, SO I NEED HELP FROM THE BASHEE NATION. RECENTLY BOUGHT A O2' BANSHEE THAT HAS SOME UPGRADES ON IT ( FMF PIPES, DELTA REEDS, K & N FILTERS). I'VE BEEN RIDING IT FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS AND THE HORSES ARE AWSOME, BUT IN THE WORDS OF TIM ALLEN, "MORE POWER". WHAT STEPS DO I TAKE TO MAKE THE IT GO FAAAAASTER. MY FAMILY WILL DO DUNES, TRAILS, AND WHAT EVER JUMPS MY PANSY BUTT CAN TAKE. I ALMOST BOUGHT A YFZ 450. I'M GLAD I RODE A BANSHEE. Edited March 19, 2006 by AVIDARCHER Quote
twincylinder Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Welcome to BHQ man..i would say porting is the best bang for your buck, the gains are tremendose. Also once you start putting go fast parts on you will never stop, i call it the sickness. Quote
trex banshee Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 a timing plate set at 4 degrees advanced would be a good cheap upgrade. Quote
WALLACE84 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Those are two mains things I would do too! another thing you could do is have the head milled and if you want find different pipes that have more hp then fmfs Quote
AVIDARCHER Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 THANKS FOR THE REPLIES. WHAT IS A GOOD PORT JOB GOING TO COST, AND WHAT PIPES ARE THE SUGGESTED? iS NOSS HEADS A GOOD IDEA OR AN IDEA THAT COULD WAIT? Quote
WALLACE84 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 I pipes I would prefer of course is toomey t5's ,but if you looking for all out drag hp then check out some inframe drag pipes(like cpis or shearers)and yes a Noss head is a good upgrade Quote
RIPPEN Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 I recently got my engine all back together and running. I have the NOSS head with 19cc domes(around 240 with domes) and a dune/play port done by Jeff @ Fast Racing (around 300) . I havn't ripped on it to hard yet since I just got it going yesterday but but so far the damn thing comes on like a freight train. Woke the bike up allot. pm FASTOYS if you have any question. He took great care of me Oh and welcome to the HQ RIPPEN Quote
creamsickle Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 how deep are you going to get into this? there are some good small things you can do. like timing and head and carbs and pipes and ignition. before you port it I would definatly go with a 4mill crank or largerm, its up to you. but its a lot easier to port an engine after its got a 4mill then doing it the other way around, if you want to go to a stroked crank later. a stroker crank will give a good boost in power. and then later down the road you could either port the stock cylinders or go to a cub. its a direct bolt on. I just went to a 421 cub and love it! save yourself the hassle of having a builder trying to line up the port timing when you want to go to a stroked crank later. Quote
