Dyna Ignition

I got a dyna ignition off of a 87 but the wiring is a little hacked up on the 87 so i dont know if it 87 wiring or not. The ignition seems to have three plugs on it, two of which match my 03 and the third i dont have at all?? Am i missing something here or is the the third plug for something im not seeing or have??

that ign might be programmable and that is why there is an extra plug, i think mine is smaller than the rest and triagular shaped

yes you are right the extra plug is for software that ya can buy it is quit exspeseve but thaen ya can program the timing curve i think and some other stuff for your setup it hucks to a cable to run a laptop to

yea it is triangular but it is plugged into something on the bike now?? Ill trace it out and see where it goes. All the programmable ones i seen in the past had a little dip switch on them to toggle between some preset curves.

If 2 of the connectors match up to whats on your 03, you have the right ignition. If the 3rd connector is triangular, that is for the curve selector switch, that allows you to switch between curves. If it had a 4th connector that is a square 4 pin connector, that would be for reprogramming. The reprogrammable ones also have a few other wires coming out for other features(brown, blue, and sometimes green).
