POLKY Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 I DON'T HAVE AN AIRBOX JUST FILTER AND WHILE RIDING THE CAP FELL OFF AND OVERFLOW TANK FELL. DIDN'T LOOSE TANK BUT LOST ALL FLUIDS. LOOKING FOR SOME WAY TO MOUNT TANK TO STAY. RIGHT NOW ZIP TIES ARE DOING THE TRICK. COULD USE SOME SUGGESTIONS. Quote
Wallrat Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Hmm...I always use zip ties. Course I mounted mine behind the front bumper. Regardless zip ties work good for it. Quote
DIRTMAN350 Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Some guys have cut the back off of their stock air box and used it and most will either remove the overflow bottle. You can get a water bottle relocator bracket just about anywhere on the web. Ex ebay, rmatv, motosport. Quote
trex banshee Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 I would just cut it off and run the line from the top of your radiator down by the a-arms somewhere, and eliminate the whole problem. Quote
banshee0044 Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 yea the bottle relocator bracket or you can be a cheap ass like me and just cut off the back part of the stock airbox.. Quote
POLKY Posted March 16, 2006 Author Report Posted March 16, 2006 I TRIED TO USE ZIP TIES BUT IT LOOKED SO STUPID. I HAVE FULL BORE PLASTIC WITH NO AIR BOX, SO I JUST DRILLED THREW THE PLASTIC AND JUG, AND RAN A BOLT WITH A NUT THREW IT ALONG WITH LOCK TIGHT. SEE WHAT HAPPINS THIS WEEKEND Quote
digger Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 u dont neet the over flow bottle at all, its not a recirculating system, its just for environmental reasons. when i removed my air box i just cut the over flow line from the top of the rad and rerouted it to beside the carb overflows. And the level indicator on the bottle is not a good way to chech u'r coolant level anyways, its much better just to take the rad cap off and look for all the time it takes Quote
sredish Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 (edited) don't need it. cut it out of there and drop the radiator line over the pipe or by the front bumper so you'll see it/smell it if it spits. if everything is setup right, jetted right and your rings aren't blown to hell, you shouldn't be overheating anyways. reded Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Get rid of it and you won't hafta worry about it. Mine hasn't had one for over 3 yrs. Quote
gatoman28 Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 I took the airbox off my banshee and I bought a coolant bottle bracket. It bolts right in the same location where the bottle stick out of, perfect fit. Call Moto-man 1-800-628-6686 Quote
Wallrat Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 I shoved mine beiing the front bumper...zip tied it to that little metal thingy with all the holes in it. I dunno...that shit is easier to cheack for coolant than the radiatior. Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 I sell a bracket that mounts the bottle to the location WallRat mentioned. PM if you want a picture or anything. Quote
