cdcoxwell Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Am I the only one that thinks this frame is stolen . It sure is sneaky how the vin# is no longer there. Can you just transfer perfectly ingraved #'s??? I wonder if a grinder had anything to do with it. I may be wrong but what do you guys think??? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-YAMAHA...sspagenameZWDVW Quote
Too Many Toys Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Thats definitely fishy. The story somewhat makes sense but still too risky. Plus $500 bucks for a stock frame with no VIN or title Quote

Big Blue Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 I dont think factory replacement frames come with a vin. Probably have to go thru some crap to get a vin tru the state. Quote
apbt549 Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 i was wondering about that i got my shee stolen and got it back 4wks later but the vin# is gone how do i get another one? Quote

Kind of a hassle. Quote

Ls7colorado Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 if your buulding a drag banshee why would you waste money on a brand new quad that you are only gonna use 2% of? I mean really what would you use off a stock banshee other than the bearings and transmission. Quote
NYUK Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 i don`t know what the guy is trying to do.but it is the shady way, you can`t just grind a vin off a frame, then stamp it on another.to get a title for my drag frame i had to go through the dmv, special construction application, pics, certified mechanic inspection, and all reciepts ,do the hokey pokey and turn myself around.then maybe, just maybe they would issue me a reconstruction title. [email protected] Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 none of my bikes got vins they were ethier factory replacement frames or powdercoated over the #'s o well . Quote
Too Many Toys Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 A buddy of mine has a stock modified chromoly frame. The guy that did the frame cut the piece with the vin number off the bike and bolted it on the new one. Thats how he got around having to have it inspected and all that BS. Replacement frames from yamaha do not come with vin, your right. Quote
MILO Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 i think i'd stay away from this one. if a new one from the dealer is about the same price, i'd go that route. this one just seems to be to risky, and it's not even a good deal. Quote
